Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of educational guidance through instructional communication strategies in improving the quality of prayer (pronunciation of letters and tranquility) among adolescents in Burai Village, Ogan Ilir. The main issues identified were low accuracy in verbal articulation and a lack of discipline in prayer movements due to the influence of local dialects and a lack of corrective guidance. The research method used was quantitative with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest design. The research sample consisted of 31 participants who took part in the “Demo Ubudiyah” program using the talaqqi method for 25 days. Data were collected through structured verbal observation and direct practice. The results showed a significant improvement in the quality of worship among all participants. The average pre-test scores, which ranged from 2.46 to 4.23, increased to 3.38–5.00 in the post-test phase. These findings demonstrate that da’wah interventions through face-to-face instructional communication and the provision of instant feedback are highly effective in improving both verbal and non-verbal competencies in worship. This study recommends the need for ongoing guidance to maintain standards of religious literacy in rural areas.
